Damn. The 'Cats are cursed.
Lots of brackets busted there. Oakland beats UK 80-76.
She used to wake me up with coffee ever morning
The SEC commissioner, hellbent on screwing college athletics royally and who recently suggested doing away with autobids to the NCAA tourney, has to deal with his schools starting 0-3 thus far.
"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing 'base', a certain game of ball. Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms, the game of ball is glorious"

Oregon, which has been reduced to eight scholarship players due to injuries, advanced to the second round to face No. 3 seed Creighton, a 77-60 winner over No. 14 seed Akron in the first of four games at PPG Paints Arena. The Creighton-Oregon matchup will have a family feel, as it will reunite Altman and Creighton, where he spent 16 years and built the Nebraska school into one of the nation's best mid-major programs.
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Jermaine Couisnard swears it wasn't personal and he wasn't seeking revenge against South Carolina. He got some anyway. Couisnard scored a career-high 40 points — the most for an Oregon player in NCAA Tournament history — and he haunted his former team while leading the Ducks to an 87-73 victory in the first round of the Midwest Region on Thursday. Couisnard, who spent three years at South Carolina before transferring in part because of a coaching change following the 2022 season, made five 3-pointers, dropped all seven free throws and went 14 of 22 from the field to pace the 11th-seeded Ducks (24-11). With his grandmother and parents watching from the front row, Couisnard put on quite a show while also exchanging a few words with some former teammates.
“It was fun, man,” the smooth guard said. “Those guys kind of made me. I grew a lot. I learned a lot when I was there. So I appreciate those guys more than anything.”
"One problem with people who have no vices is that they're pretty sure to have some annoying virtues."
Refs bail out Kansas...as usual .

From the little I saw this season I felt like the SEC was overrated going into this tournament. They proved me right yesterday with only Tennessee advancing. My guess is ESPN has so much invested in the SEC they feel like they have to pump them up to make sure people will watch.

That was so ridiculous and egregious. There was a ref staring directly at the play. He didn't call the foul, but he could have easily gone over to the ref that did and said "that was a clean block, I saw it clearly" and he just didn't.
That should have been the best moment of that kid's life and instead the refs called an absolutely BS call that every person watching knew it was. This wasn't even controversial. It was clearly a clean block. In fact, it was one of the best blocks I have ever seen in my life.
Just absolutely pathetic.
If I am Samford I am filing a grievance with the NCAA.
What would you say.....ya do here?

Despite Kentucky crapping the bed, this is still a fun tournament to watch. Lots of great stories and kids coming from seemingly nowhere to have their moment in the sun.
