I guess I’m more like “Red, Red, Whine” these last three days. A guy coming in with a 4.19 ERA pitches shutout baseball. A guy coming off TJS throws seven shutout innings last night. Ugh!

I don’t think you know the definition of falling apart at the seams. That ain’t it. That’s just below average starts.

Yeah who know maybe they would've spent the Candy money on a OFer. But they knew they would have to replace Marte and they didn't want India to play everyday. Then when McLain went down they had no choice but to play India.
Whatever the case. Marte being dumb started the snowball.

Candy was signed way before the team knew about Marte, and you don’t sign Candy to a LTC because a guy got a 81 game suspension. The Candy deal had nothing to do with Marte is what I’m saying.

Pagan I hope has options. He needs to go Tuesday. Someone has to for Montas on Tuesday.

He’s got too much service time. They can’t option him, they can put him in the IL or release him and eat the money, which they aren’t going to do after 13 innings.

Maybe they can trade him back to the Twins, the only place he was able to keep the ball in the park.

I disagree with the Reds' manager in that assessment. They do very little in the way of playing baseball the right way. Fundamentally unsound, terrible approaches to hitting, bad at catching the ball, bad decision -making on the field, in the dugout, and in the front office. Apathetic and cheap ownership. Bell just adds to fan frustration by lying through his teeth.

Well that was a wasted weekend. I finally get to watch the Reds and they were just terrible. Any time a team isn't hitting they looked extra terrible. And that is exactly what they are now. It was going to be hard to win without three starters but the ones they have in there now look just awful. Hopefully with Friedl coming back this week it will give them a spark. But otherwise this looks like another loooooong season.

Losing Marte, McCain, and Friedl before the season starts doesn’t fall on him. Montas started out looking good but fell apart at the seams.
