I agree.

I used to spend all my time on political only boards, and just got sick of it.

This election has burned me out as well, but I don't understand how some people are so far on kool-aid drinkers for one side while giving the finger to the other.

One side is not always right while the other is always wrong folks. Relax, take a breath, realize that we're a great place because of differences, thanks, come again.

I actually enjoy getting different points of view. I try to be objective and maybe learn something along the way. The debates on this board are so polarized that it's like people are just picking fights.

It's not too early for a visit from this guy, is it?

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-8/815381/Sam.JPG

This guy visited my house at 11:00 this morning. TC is having a rough weekend.

BTW, the girls just left. Give them an hour or two. They're shopping for both households. I think they're stopping back here to drop off frozen stuff. I set them up with a cooler to get your cold stuff down there.

They may change the game plan somewhere along the way, depending on what they buy.

HELP!!!!

I have clearly angered the Lord of the flies. After finally killing a fly last night that had been in my apartment forever, I woke up this morning, walked into my spare room (where the computer is), and what do you know. FOUR flies were hanging out ON my computer. GAAAAHHH!!!!!!

I am totally freaked out by this. Where did they come from?!? I have the window open in here, but I don't see any holes in the screen. And they don't seem to be anywhere else in my apartment. But it is SO GROSS to see all these flies at once. I feel disgusting! And I don't know what to do!

What I did is: Found a can of Raid I didn't think I had, sprayed the crap out of this room, then shut the door for half an hour. When I worked up the nerve to venture back in here, I only saw one fly buzzing around, and I killed him. So far I haven't seen any others, but the question remains: WHERE are they coming from?!?! Could they be (gasp) breeding somehow?!

That's nuttin'! When we got back from our NY camping trip. Generations of flies had set up house in the garage. Probably hatched from the garbage cans. It was like Amityville horror. It even grossed me out, and I don't gross out very easy.

We hung a couple sticky fly strips, and TB accidentally walked through one. The whole ordeal was a swear fest.

Just set up a scorecard on your fridge and swat away!

There is no standing water in here. I'm baffled by the sudden appearance of flies in here. Not only do I feel like I have Raid all over me now (which can't be good), but I feel like things are crawling all over me. Yuck.

My new attack plan (thanks to TC): Keep the door to this room closed when I go to work. After work, go to grocery and buy 1. fly strips; 2. fly swatter; 3. more Raid; 4. anything else that looks like it will work.

I can't believe it's still 10-3 in OSU vs. UC.

A fun thing I do with spiders. Spiders are the villain in this house ..... house backs up right to the woods. We have no screen doors (weird), so we get lots of critters. Spray hair-spray on them. Yeah, I know, bugs are everywhere. But I am totally surrounded by trees and shrubbery, which doesn't help. And I live on the second floor, but aparently that is no deterrent for these bugs! When you take the giant monster bug in the hallway, the crazy leaping bug in my living room, the spiders, the flies, and now a damn litter of new spiders, plus all the other crazy things that have gotten in here (crickets, moths, god only knows what else), I just CANNOT DEAL.

You know what song I haven't heard in awhile - Who Let the Dogs Out. I like to sing that song while I'm playing blackjack, on those rare occasions when I win.

Luckily the dealers all love me, so I can get away with it - although some pit bosses have looked at me wierd, but thats just because they don't take the time to talk to me. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

That song was so overplayed I could do 20 years without hearing it again ;)

Not really. Just the fact that I hate moving. Come October, if I'm still in this apartment, it will get the honor of being the apartment I've lived in the longest since moving out of my parents' house after house school. (I've been at this place for three years.)

But seriously, it's time to move. The complex is going to crap anyway, and they just raised my rent two months ago. Hopefully I'll have time to apartment search while I'm "working" tonight.

Hmmmmm ..... devil on one shoulder, angel on the other. The teamsters are away. The lawn hasn't been mowed in awhile. I'm thinking I should mow a baseball diamond in the backyard. If I build it, will they come? ..... and play wiffle ball? .... or will I just get a scolding? I'm thinking I need to build a baseball stadium for labor day weekend. Sure to annoy the next person that finishes the mowing.

You should build a mini-Fenway park for whiffle ball. That would be cool!

Ankle is pretty good today, Rosie. I only had to take 1 pill today and I really didn't even need to do that. I was sleeping last night and I took a pill before I went to bed - about midnight - and I must have been dreaming and I hit my bad leg against my good leg and the pain woke me up. It was only 2 a.m. but I got up and took a pill anyway cause I tried to go to sleep hoping the pain would subside but it didn't. My only real problem is I keep getting a mild leg cramp in the back of my thigh.

Hey Sandy,

No, Panama City is in Bay County - we are two hours away from FSU/Tallahassee. But I haven't been to a game yet. I really want to catch an FSU-North Carolina basketball game next year. I'm a UNC fan so I'll have to cheer softly, but I think I can manage that.

Just for information's sake, Seminole County is actually right next to Orange County (Orlando) My sister lives in Sanford in Seminole County, 20 miles outside downtown Orlando. Tallahassee is in Leon County and is about 4 hours from Seminole County.

I isn't read to well.

As for if Panama City is in Seminole Country, then the answer is only slighty. We have a lot of FSU fans, more than any other team. But Florida still has a big presence in Bay County.

That would be the 1996 Rent we paid on a 800 square foot 1 bedroom in Palo Alto. A 1940's 8 plex with wood floors and a wall heater.

Greatest stove I ever had........ gawd I miss that stove.

Here is what I imagine all the regulars of this thread are doing right now, 5:15 pm Saturday (by the way, if I forget anyone then your not a regular!! Just kidding, I then just forgot you through happenstance):

Chip: lying on his bed with some teamsters waiting on him
TeamCasey: mowing her lawn in a fancy smancy pattern

I think they set him up with food. Never got the details.

I did mow a baseball diamond, but I made a new discovery. Boy likes to play wiffle ball, but I always did most of the playing. I turned it into a kickball field and boy was much more involved and confident. He doesn't catch a wiffle ball well, but he'll dive like Ryan Freel for the 2 foot diameter rubber ball we have. He giggles the whole way. I think I found the key.

I did mow a baseball diamond

Lots of people complain about how patterns are mowed on the field these days, TRADITION!!! they shout!!

When Crosley Field opened in 1912 the Groundskeeper Matty Schwab sculpted the mound to resemble an Ace of Spades.

Back then hey also used to say that players didn't hustle and they talked to too many other players on the other team.

But all internet arguments took place on telegraph tickers, the 1912 election with that 3rd party really caused a stir in the dot and dash community.

Fact of the day:
Chiefs second-year running back Larry Johnson has re-upholstered the seats of his Mercedes G55 with NFL throwback jerseys. The front seat contains uniforms of some of his all-time favorites, such as defensive back Dick "Night Train’’ Lane. The back seat bears the jerseys of running backs Jim Brown, Walter Payton and Earl Campbell.

Puffy, I thought you might enjoy this poem by Rudyard Kipling.

***** Can Sit by the Fire and Sing

***** can sit by the fire and sing,
***** can climb a tree
Or play with a silly old cork and string
To 'muse herself, not me.
But I like Binkie my dog, because
He knows how to behave;
So, Binkie's the same as the First Friend was,
And I am the Man in the Cave!

***** will play Man Friday till
It's time to wet her paw
and make her walk on the window-sill
(For the footprint Crusoe saw);
Then she fluffles her tail and mews,
And scratches and won't attend
But Binkie will play whatever I choose,
And he is my true First Friend!

***** will rub my knees with her head
Pretending she loves me hard;
But the very minute I go to my bed
***** runs out in the yard,
And there she stays till the morning-light;
So I know it is only pretend
And he is my Firstest Friend.

Edward Lear, anyone?

The Owl and the ***** Cat
Edward Lear

The Owl and the ***** Cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea-green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money
Wrapped up in a five-pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
"O lovely *****, O *****, my love,
What a beautiful ***** you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful ***** you are!"*
