Just amazing. The diamond ring flash at the end sealed it.

Better than I ever imagined it would be, clear skies, diamond ring, corona, plus a solar prominence showing red/purple.

Upstate NY did what Upstate NY does cloudy skies...got to see a smidge of it before the clouds got heavy. Going dark was pretty cool but the daughter was disappointed...told her I should still be around in 2044.

Drove west 30 min, no traffic, turned north and drove until 10-15 min before totality, parked, watched, no traffic home. Feeling very lucky that not only did my kids see it but also that we didn't sit in traffic after hearing all the horror stories.

I wonder if our Midwest history of cloudy, overcast days this time of year ultimately sent more out-of-state travelers further south. And then when it came down to it, Texas was cloudy today while the weather was basically pristine for most of Ohio.

Our house was in totality. We got on the bikes and rode another few miles deeper into totality for a slightly longer experience. Just an awesome experience.

It was funny sitting in Harrison, OH in a 30 min traffic jam with enough people in the area cell service wasn’t working lol. Tried to take 74W to my family’s house in West Harrison and the usual 30 min drive was an hour long. Crazy stuff.

I had never heard the word totality spoken more than these past few days.

I have a feeling people avoided our town because the central Indiana forecast right up until Sunday morning predicted clouds. We still had crowds, but no where near what public safety was prepared for.
