Minor League Game Thread 4/7/24 SUNDAY

DAYTONA - Daytona leads off today's action for the Reds farm clubs.

Adam Serinowski is seriously dealing today. He has tossed 3 perfect innings, striking out 4. He has only tossed 34 pitches.

4 hits for the Turtles, but no runs on the scoreboard.

Dominic Pitelli is 2 for 2, pushing his early-season batting average up to .636.

Daytona loaded the bases with one away in the first before the St Lucie starter was jerked. They inserted Jonah Tong, and he has been spectacular. He has fanned 8 in 3.0 IP.

EDIT: Make that 9 Ks in 3.1 innings.

LOUISVILLE - The Bats went down in order in the top of the first.

Rehabber, Nick Lodolo, will take the ball in the home half of the inning for Louisville.

Lodolo works around a leadoff double, retiring the Stripers on 17 pitches (14 strikes).

DAYTONA - moved to 2-1 on the season by blanking St. Lucie 2-0.

Adam Serinowski was stellar with 4 scoreless innings. He allowed one hit, no walks and struck out 6.
Nestor Lorant was quite good. He also worked 4 scoreless innings to pick up the win. 5 hits, 0 walks and 3 Ks.
Dylan Simmons earned the save with a 1-2-3 stanza. He fanned 2. Drafted in the 15th round in 2023, the Pitt alumnus made his first period in the minors a successful one.

    Two singles for Donovan Pitelli.
Carter Graham singled twice and walked.
Johnny Ascanio homered (1) and was walked twice.

NOTE: St. Lucie hurler, Jonah Tong, went 4.1 innings and struck out 11. Yikes!

Re: Minor League Game Thread 4/7/24 SUNDAY

DAYTON - Los Dragons scored a run in each of the first two innings, before allowing a 4-spot in the 3rd. That's where it stands in the top of the 6th, 4-2 Lansing.

Javi Rivera was victimized for all 4 runs.
Tanner Cooper came in with the bases loaded and all 3 runners scored.
Ian Gibaut dispatched Lansing in order in the 5th. 10 pitches, 8 strikes and 2 punch outs.
Arij Fransen is walking the tightrope in the 6th. He has allowed a single and walked 3, but no one has crossed home thanks to Jay Allen II gunning down a runner at second.
Pedro Alfonseca has now replaced Fransen. And he promptly balks a run home. Pedro strikes out the batter to end the inning.

Sal Stewart has singled twice for Dayton.
Ethan O'Donnell has singled and doubled.

LOUISVILLE - goes down in flame for the 3rd straight contest. This time it's 8-2.

Sam Moll and Yosver Zulueta each posted a scoreless inning down the stretch.

Not much went on hitting-wise. Blake Dunn singled and walked.
Mike Ford doubled and homered (2).

Other than that, not much offensively.
