Nick Lodolo is throwing a bullpen. He has another follow up evaluation tomorrow as the Reds get more information and map out his plan.

Cincinnati Reds' Lefty in Odd Situation Regarding Injured Leg

Left-hander Nick Lodolo's status for Opening Day is up in the air as he continues to battle discomfort related to a stress reaction in his tibia from 2023.
Per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com:
Nick Lodolo is throwing a side bullpen session today. Tomorrow, he is seeing a specialist for his left tibula to get tests. Outcome will likely determine whether he can be ready on time for the start of the Reds' season, or soon thereafter.
It's certainly an interesting situation as Lodolo both continues to pitch and experience discomfort.

They do. And as long as he is not in discomfort when starting and then is able to go…every 5-6 days…assuming they go with 6 man rotation. It shouldn’t be an issue if it’s not causing permanent damage.
Again not advocating abuse or going back to the old days of just pitch through injuries. However this has become. All over MLB really the issue of just not wanting to or allowing players to just pitch through any discomfort.
Some players just can’t do it.
I know many here won't like it, but I think these contracts need to evolve into "you don't get paid a fraction of what you'd normally get paid if you are out due to injury". They're getting paid to perform. None of us would continue raking in full paychecks month after month if we got hurt on the job. Worker's Comp would pay a fraction of what we normall make. LTD / STD would pay a fraction.

What have they been doing since the injury? I think that needs to be looked at. These guys are not doing all they can to get back.

None of us are entertaining millions of people in a multi-billion dollar industry while being represented by a powerful union which was formed to take on an ownership cabal that suppressed salaries consistently for over 100 years in a free market economy.
But yes, none of us would

This is the same person that says that a players salary should require him to find an off-season job.

The idea that a player should get their pay cut if they get injured is insane.

It's literally a robber baron tactic that went under 147 years ago. The original NL contracts allowed the clubs to charge players for their boarding on road trips as well as uniforms. Even more egregious was when confronted with injuries the club made the player pay for the medical evaluation, but in the end the club would be the arbitrator on whether the player could play or not. If the player was on the shelf then the money stopped flowing
