    That’s true. And I was expecting that. My issue is will they continue to not work the cap numbers to their benefit better. They are loathe to be stuck with dead money to the point of not doing anything. I don’t expect Cleveland Browns level stupidity. Just more creativity.

    At least they are spending money. The NFL caught onto that and essentially created a salary cap floor a few years ago because of Mike Brown refusing to spend money in FA.

    Right now the Bengals have this generations Barry Larkin and the Brown family I think knows better than to screw up the Burrow window.

    Went to OU, spent time at the Enquirer from 1980-1985. I haven't read him much lately but I always enjoyed his work, he'll be missed.

    Loved the Mort report it was always my favorite part of ESPNs football coverage.

    Old school reporter who built his reporting sources on trust, and relationships...definitely one of a kind.

    I got his book "Playing for Keeps: How One Man Kept the Mob from Sinking Its Hooks into Pro Football" back in the 90s. I thought it was funny he had a pornstache on his dust jacket cover. Good book.
