Just went thru TSA Pre-Check at the world’s busiest airport in about 2 minutes. As fliers were thanking the employees for continuing to work during the shutdown, I heard this line:

From there yeah, although she is indeed pretty sound for an old boat. Fiberglass is a wonderful thing and it killed the sailboat market because you can buy one that's nearly 50 years old and it'll sail just the same as a new one. Just fewer goo gahs.

As the solemn and harmonic music of Mozart’s Masonic Funeral Music came to an end, there was utter silence in Boston’s Symphony Hall. You could hear a pin drop. And then, from somewhere in the audience, a young child’s voice pierced the silence: “Wow!”
The audience laughed, then erupted in applause.
The performance of the Handel and Haydn Society orchestra conducted by Harry Christophers at a recent recording at Symphony Hall was recorded by WCRB to air later this year. The orchestra would like to find that awe-struck kid.

My son graduated from high school this week. After twelve years of kicking and scraping and walking to the edge of legal action over his right to accommodations required by law, after countless evenings of helping him with homework in subjects that he didn't understand and will never need as an adult, one full year of homeschooling, and finally after him finding success and actually getting an award for the highest average grade in the school mechanical and architectural drafting program, my boy made it. I'm exhausted and feel like I've been living in a tunnel for a decade, but this weekend I am seeing the sun and breathing a little easier now that he's made it. There are new challenges to face, but this day we celebrate.
